As this was the 50th Anniversary it occurred to me that it would be nice to see if there was any way we could get a single cover with the stamps from both 2016 and 1966.
The subjects featured on the 1966 set were the Crest of Barbados, Hilton Hotel, Gary Sobers and Pine Hill Dairy. In 2016 we see both Hilton Hotel and Pine Hill Dairy featured again so I wondered if it would be possible to get a ‘special’ cover.
Of course, it was….
Pride of place in the collection now is this double dated Independence Cover featuring the very best of Barbados.
Can someone suggest a site or catalogue which will give me the value of Barbados FDC’s

To the best of my knowledge, there isn’t one. The stamps are all valued in the latest Stanley Gibbons Catalogue, however, no price is given for FDC’s.
My assumption has always been that the price is similar to that for ‘fine used’ as if you soak the stamps off the cover that’s what they would become. There are exceptions, however, like this cover with both sets of stamps on as I don’t believe there is another one in existence.
Of course, the real value is what someone is willing to pay for them and that’s another matter entirely!
